Prop firm evals with an end-of-day drawdown

On these evaluations the drawdown floor only moves at the close, based on your end-of-day balance, so open profit you give back during the day doesn't raise it. It's still enforced in real time: an open loss that touches the floor ends the account. The list is built from our firm data.

"End of day, intraday once funded" means the eval trails your close but the funded account trails your intraday peak. "Your choice" means you pick the type at checkout. Prices are list prices.

What end of day protects

Take a 50K with a $2,000 drawdown and a trade that runs $1,200 in your favor, then comes back to flat before you close it.

  • End of day: the floor didn't move. Only the closing balance counts, and you closed flat.
  • Intraday: the floor followed your peak and is now $1,200 higher. You lost 60% of your room without losing a dollar.

That's the whole difference, and it's why traders who hold winners through pullbacks pay more for end of day. The EOD vs intraday guide has the longer version.

What it doesn't protect

  • A losing day. The floor is enforced live. An open loss that touches it ends the account, close or no close.
  • A good close. After a $1,000 day the floor moves up $1,000 overnight. A normal pullback the next morning now has less room.

Where the floor eventually stops is a separate rule. Many firms lock it at or near the starting balance once you're far enough ahead, at least on the funded account; static vs trailing drawdown explains the difference. To watch the floor move day by day, use the drawdown calculator.

Questions people actually ask

Which prop firms use an end-of-day drawdown?

The accounts in the table above. Some firms sell both kinds, Apex for example has an End of Day and an Intraday eval, and some switch type once you're funded.

Can I go below the end-of-day floor during the day?

No. The floor is calculated at the close but enforced all session. If your balance, open trades included, touches it at 10 AM, the account is gone even if you'd have recovered by the close.
