Topstep vs Take Profit Trader: two monthly evals, different fine print
Both are monthly subscriptions with a $3,000 target and a $2,000 end-of-day drawdown that locks at your starting balance on a 50K. Topstep asks for a best day under 55% and at least two days; Take Profit Trader under 50% and at least three. Take Profit Trader has no daily loss limit and allows 6 minis, Topstep 5.

Where they differ
Best day. Topstep: at or under 55% of total profit. Take Profit Trader: under 50%. On a 50K that's $1,650 against just under $1,500. Their own example is a good warning: days of $2,000, $600 and $500 make $3,100, over the target, but the real target becomes anything above $4,000. Try your days in the consistency calculator.
Minimum days. Two at Topstep, three at Take Profit Trader.
Daily loss limit. Take Profit Trader doesn't have one on the test. Topstep lets you choose at checkout. The list of evals without a daily loss limit shows who else skips it.
Contracts. 6 minis at Take Profit Trader, 5 at Topstep.
To go funded. Topstep: $149 activation, or $0 on the no-fee path. Take Profit Trader: a one-time $130 PRO fee, which they sometimes waive with codes.
What's the same: the floor follows your end-of-day balance, is enforced in real time and stops at your starting balance. That part trains the same habit at both.
