50K futures prop firm evaluations, side by side

Almost every futures firm asks for a $3,000 profit target on a 50K evaluation. What separates them is the drawdown: how big it is, whether it trails your closing balance or your intraday peak, and whether a daily loss limit pauses you or ends you. The table below puts those side by side.

The "Room" column is the max loss divided by the profit target. At 67%, a $2,000 drawdown against a $3,000 target, you can lose two thirds of the target before you're out. At 83% you have a bit more slack. It's the quickest way to see how forgiving an account is before you look at anything else.

What actually differs

The drawdown amount is close everywhere. Most 50K accounts give you $2,000. Bulenox lists up to $2,500 and MyFundedFutures sells a tighter $1,500 version of its Builder plan.

How it moves is not. End-of-day drawdowns only move at the close, so open profit you give back during the day doesn't cost you room. Apex's Intraday eval trails your peak during the session instead, which is stricter for traders who let winners run and give some back. Don't read end-of-day as a free pass, though. Apex, Topstep, Tradeify and Take Profit Trader all say plainly that the floor is enforced in real time: touch it with an open trade and you're out.

Daily loss limits mostly pause, not fail. Apex End of Day, MyFundedFutures Builder, Tradeify Growth, Alpha Futures Zero and Topstep's optional limit all stop you for the rest of the session and leave the account alive. Topstep and Lucid let you choose whether to have one, and several accounts have none at all.

Consistency rules hide in two places. Some firms check your best day to pass the eval (Topstep 55%, Tradeify Select 40%, Lucid 40% or 50%, Take Profit Trader 50%). Others leave the eval alone and apply the rule to payouts. Read both.

How to use this

Pick two or three accounts whose drawdown style matches how you trade, then practice that style before you pay. In the simulator, Apex End of Day and Topstep cover end-of-day trailing; Apex Intraday covers peak trailing.

Blow it here, not on a paid eval

Run the same rules on your own trades in the simulator. Free, no card, and a blown account costs you nothing but pride.
