Apex Performance Account rules, size by size

An Apex PA keeps your eval drawdown, locks the threshold at the start plus $100, and scales contracts and the daily loss limit with your closing balance. A payout needs five days of minimum profit, no day at 50% or more of the cycle profit and a balance above the safety net. Each PA pays six times at most, then closes.

Same sizes, drawdowns, safety nets and payout count. Two differences: the minimum daily profit for a qualifying day is lower ($200 instead of $250 on the 50K), and the threshold follows your intraday peak, open profit included, until you're the drawdown plus $100 ahead.

Where the threshold stops

The PA keeps your eval's drawdown amount. On an End of Day PA the threshold trails your best close and stops at starting balance + $100. On a 50K: once you close at $52,100, the floor is $50,100 for good. Touch it, open trades included, and the PA closes permanently.

Contracts and daily loss limit scale with profit

Your tier is set before each session from the previous close. Profit is measured from the starting balance.

SizeTier 1Top tier
25K1 contract, $500 DLL (under $1,000 profit)2 contracts, $1,250 DLL ($2,000 and up)
50K2 contracts, $1,000 DLL (under $1,500)4 contracts, $3,000 DLL (about $6,000 and up)
100K3 contracts, $1,750 DLL (under $2,000)6 contracts, $3,500 DLL ($10,000 and up)
150K4 contracts, $2,500 DLL (under $2,000)10 contracts, $4,000 DLL ($10,000 and up)

A close below a threshold moves you down a tier for the next session; you never drop below tier 1. Ten micros count as one mini. An order that would take you over your size is rejected, not punished.

The payout checklist

  1. Five qualifying days since your last payout, each with at least the minimum daily profit. They don't have to be in a row.
  2. The 50% rule. No single profitable day may be 50% or more of the profit since your last approved payout. Check it with the consistency calculator, pasting only the current cycle.
  3. Above the safety net. The safety net is the drawdown plus $100 above the start, for the life of the PA. Only profit above it can be withdrawn, and the request needs at least $500 on top.
  4. Within the cap for this payout number.

All met: you get 100% of the approved amount. You can keep trading while it's reviewed, but trade as if the money is already gone: if the balance falls below the minimum, the request is denied.

Six payouts, then done

Every PA pays out at most six times. On a 50K End of Day PA the caps add up to $13,000 ($1,500 + $1,500 + $2,000 + $2,500 + $2,500 + $3,000). After the sixth, the PA closes and the next one needs a new eval. Plan the size of your requests around that: asking for less than the cap early doesn't add payouts later.

Stay active

Every rolling 30 days, at least two trading days with $50 or more of net profit. Apex sends reminders at 15 and 20 days without them; at 30 the PA is closed and can't be reinstated.

Practice it

FundedSim runs the Apex PA with these rules: tiers, safety net, five qualifying days, the 50% rule, caps and the six-payout close, plus the inactivity check. Log a few payouts in practice before the real one. How the PA compares with other firms' funded accounts: payout rules and Apex vs Topstep.

Questions people actually ask

How much profit do I need before my first Apex payout?

Enough to reach the minimum balance to request: $52,600 on a 50K, which is the $2,100 safety net plus the $500 minimum payout. On a 25K it's $26,600, on a 100K $103,600 and on a 150K $154,600.

Do the five Apex payout days have to be in a row?

No. Any five trading days that each meet the minimum daily profit count, and there's no deadline to collect them. That allows a payout as often as weekly.

What happens after the sixth Apex payout?

The PA closes. To get another one you pass a new evaluation.

Can an Apex PA be closed for inactivity?

Yes. Every rolling 30 days you need at least two trading days with $50 or more of net profit. After 30 days without that, the account closes and can't be reinstated.
