Futures tick value calculator
A tick is the smallest price move a futures contract can make, and the tick value is what that move is worth per contract. One ES tick is 0.25 points and worth $12.50; one MES tick is the same 0.25 points and worth $1.25. Pick a contract below to turn any move into dollars.

All values come from CME Group's contract specification pages. Point value is what a full one-point move is worth for one contract.
Ticks, points and why it matters for an eval
Futures prices move in ticks, but most traders think in points. On the S&P and Nasdaq contracts four ticks make a point. On the Dow contracts one tick is a full point. On crude oil one tick is a cent.
That difference is why the same "10-point stop" means very different money:
- 10 points on MES is $50 per contract.
- 10 points on MNQ is $20 per contract.
- 10 points on ES is $500 per contract.
On a 50K evaluation with a $1,000 daily loss limit, two ES stops of 10 points end the day. Twenty MES stops of the same size would.
Minis vs micros
Every micro here is a tenth of its mini, and most prop firms count 10 micros as one mini toward your contract limit. If your stop needs room, micros let you keep it without blowing the dollar risk.
Next step: work out how many contracts fit your risk.
Now try it with real trades
