# Trailing drawdown, EOD vs intraday: the rule behind most blown evals

Your floor is your best balance minus the drawdown, until it locks. The whole question is which balance counts as best.

End of day: only the closing balance counts. A trade that runs up and comes back during the day does not move your floor.

Intraday: the highest point of the session counts, open profit included. Give back a big open run and you can hit the floor without a single losing trade.

Worked examples with real numbers: [https://fundedsim.com/en/guides/eod-vs-intraday-drawdown](https://fundedsim.com/en/guides/eod-vs-intraday-drawdown) and [https://fundedsim.com/en/guides/trailing-drawdown](https://fundedsim.com/en/guides/trailing-drawdown)

Run the same trade on both account types in the simulator and watch where the floor goes.
