> Futures prop firm profit splits side by side: Apex pays 100%, most firms 90/10, a few 80/20. What the split means for a real payout, and what matters more.

Most futures prop firms pay 90% of a payout to the trader and keep 10%. Apex pays 100% on its PA accounts. MyFundedFutures Builder and Take Profit Trader's PRO account pay 80%. On a $2,000 payout that's the difference between $1,600 and $2,000 in your pocket.

## What the split does to a real payout

On a $2,000 payout request:

- **100%:** $2,000
- **90/10:** $1,800
- **80/20:** $1,600

Over ten payouts the gap between 80% and 100% is $4,000. That's real money, but it's rarely what decides how much you take home.

## What matters more than the split

**Caps.** Many accounts limit each request, for example to a fixed dollar amount on a 50K. A big month still pays out in pieces.

**The buffer.** Most firms want profit above a safety level before the first payout. That money stays in the account.

**Consistency on payouts.** Some firms apply a best-day rule to withdrawals, not just to the eval. One big day can delay a payout.

The [payout rules guide](https://fundedsim.com/en/guides/prop-firm-payout-rules) puts caps, buffers and qualifying days side by side, and the [payout tax guide](https://fundedsim.com/en/guides/prop-firm-payout-taxes) covers what's left after the IRS.

## Before you pick by split

Pick the eval whose drawdown fits how you trade, then look at the split. A 100% split on an account you keep blowing pays nothing. Practice the rules first in the simulator.

## Questions people actually ask

**What is a normal profit split for a futures prop firm?**

90/10 in the trader's favor is the most common split among the firms we track. Apex pays 100%, and a few accounts pay 80%.

**Does Bulenox pay 100% of the first $10,000?**

Not according to its own FAQ, which says the split is 90/10 in your favor. Some third-party sites still list older terms, so check the firm's page.

**Is a higher split always better?**

No. Payout caps, the buffer you must leave in the account and consistency rules decide how much you can actually withdraw. A 100% split on a capped payout can pay less than 90% on an uncapped one.

## Blow it here, not on a paid eval

Run the same rules on your own trades in the simulator. Free, no card, and a blown account costs you nothing but pride.
